Gas Safe Certificate Information for Landlords
Appliances provided by the landlord must be checked for safety at least once a year.
• Records must be kept for at least 2 years
• Records must be given to the tenant within 28 days of the test being carried out
• Checks must be carried out by a gas safety engineer with the relevant qualifications
• Any existing record must be given to the tenant before moving in
• If the occupancy is less that 28 days, a copy of the current gas safety check must be displayed (specifically for HMOs)
